On a windy, overcast day in Bern, aggressive baserunning helped the hosts
beat the Challengers.

After a strong pitching performance to start off the game by Benjamin
Waite, his Cardinals teammates put up a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st
inning. Zeros would remain the order of the day until the 6th inning.

Starting pitcher Waite of the the Cardinals encountered a problem when he
walked a batter who became the first Challengers baserunner of the day.
The visitors then managed to tie the game at 1-1, putting pressure on the
hosts. The Cardinals blew out the hope of their guests when red bird
shortstop, Samuel de los Santos, started a spectacular
inning-ending-double-play with a catch in shallow left field, which he
followed by rifling a throw back to second base for the third out.

The hosts' aggressive baserunning in the bottom of the 5th inning put up a
further 3 runs, punishing the control issues of Challengers pitcher Robert
Sedin.

The visitors put up another rally in the 9th inning, but Waite was able to
pitch his way to a complete game win at home.

Cardinals win Game 3 with the score of 5-3.
