CARDS DROP OPENER 4-305.09.2010
In his complete game effort, Roger Salvodelli held the powerful Cardinal offense to only six hits, while continually keeping them off balance. Tobias Imboden matched him on the mound, allowing only six hits for the game, but a pair of defensive miscues leading to two unearned runs was the differance. The Cards went up early on a linedrive homerun to straight away centerfield from Seth Suplin. But the Mustangs quickly answered with a homerun of their own to even the score. The Stangs scored in two other innings to hold a 4-1 lead in the sixth inning. The Cards then found some life, after a lead off single from John Baum, Johnny Perigo lifted a homer over the right field fence to cut the deficit to only a single run. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, they were unable to score one of the only two baserunners they had in their last three at bats, and lost game one 4-3. Game two is today at the allmend beginning at 2pm...come out in full force Cardinal nation! We need your support in an all important game two!!!! CARDS IN '10!
